There are a lot of activities to do in and around Bukit Lawang.

If you are here on friday you can visit the traditional market and get an impression of the local everyday life. It´s just a 10 minutes walk from Bukit Lawang tourist area.

Also it´s possible to visit the local school in the village and see how the student work there. There you can go by traditional Tuk Tuk, a funny way to experience the surroundings of Bukit Lawang.

Or just visit the Bat Cave if you want to explore more of the wildlife in Bukit Lawang. The Bat Cave is not far from the main area in Bukit Lawang, just a 30 minutes walk.

Village tour: 500.000 IDR (each person)

The village tour is a good way to get an impression of the local agriculture and how they process different products like rice, tofu, sugar, palm oil or cocoa. Your guide will show you around the different places in traditional Tuk Tuk and the local workers will give you an introduction of the manufacture of their products. For sure you will also get the change to try some brown sugar, cocoa and tofu.

Village tour by mountain bike: 500.000 IDR (each person)

The village tour we can also organize for you as a mountainbike tour, if you need more physical action and thrill. Our accomodation in the ricefields has five new mountain bikes. Just let us know if you want to do this activity, so we can arrange this accomodation for your trip 🙂
